People in the Kenosha-Racine-Waterford-Burlington areas know that in winter, temperatures can plummet and be downright frigid! No worries! The professionally trained and certified technicians at Southport Heating, Plumbing and Geothermal can install and service a radiant heating system to keep you cozy and warm even when it’s cold outside.
Radiant heat transfers heat to an object, such as the floor, ceiling or walls, diffusing the heat throughout the room. Because more than the air is heated, it’s a more consistent heat. In areas where temperatures can be colder, radiant heat may be a more efficient alternative. When combined with a heat pump for cooling, the radiant heat system becomes a hybrid that operates very efficiently. There are two types of radiant heat:
Radiant Floor Heat
In a radiant floor heat system, air, electric or hot water may be the heated energy source used to heat the room. The delivery system for air or water is typically a series of looped tubing under the floor. Water or hydronic systems are the most popular and, typically, cost effective radiant floor heating system.
